Change Your Goals or Change Your Identity? (Scale, Growth and Marketing)

Do you change your goals? Or do you change your identity?
That question has been going round in my head because, for a long time, I was setting big, hairy, audacious goals. I think I got conditioned to do that based on the environment I was in before starting my own company. And I did it because I believed that if you don’t put up massive goals for yourself, you’re not trying hard enough, you’re not pushing yourself, and you’re not doing what you need to do to take yourself to the next level.
